Vanguard Rogues Gallery Poll!

A new poll!
Hi. Something Dom/Soldier just said about the Puppet made me wonder:

Who's your favorite Vanguard villain? Who’s the baddie you love to hate?

Likely suspects (but not a complete list):

Silas Caine

Jim Harrik and/or Homicide for Hire

The Entity IT

Black Bat

Dr. Swastika and/or the Ubermensch

The Luddite

Morgue and/or the Five Bosses of Big City (may they rest in peace)

Skin Deep

The Primate and/or his Ani-Men

Ratman

The Puppet

Otom the Seer

Warlock and/or the Crimson Coven

Accelerator

The Dark Avatar

Vanguard Omega

Dr. Change

Gadget Girl

Dr. X and/or the Soviet Super Soldiers

Jellyfish

The Hyena

Pachyderm

Spider Girucci

Homicide Unlimited

Other?

Thanks. The answers would be instructional for me. Also, fun.

Best,
Jeff

I like Harrik as a neat foe.

I like the Luddite's powers and picture.  Wish I knew his actual power descriptions.

As time passes, I find that I think that I like the adventure against the Primate the best of what we've done.

My Top 5

Silas Caine
Jim Harrik and/or Homicide for Hire
The Entity IT
Dr. Change
Warlock and/or the Crimson Coven

I also have 1 objection. Pacyderm should not be on the list. He isn't a villain he is just misunderstood. :)

Viva Vanguard.

Personally loved the Vanguard Omega issues.

I'm right in my element right now.

Luddite, Harrik and Skin Deep? I'm just missing Silas Caine and it would be a hat trick.

By far, Silas Caine has been a villain I love to hate.

Thanks. Interesting replies so far.  :)

Harold, did you like the Primate storyline because of Primate as the master villain?

Or was it Oracle's future powers, Greece as the location, the darker feel than the customary silver-bronze age feel, the Inhuman betrayal, the Symbiote pseudo-betrayal, or something else?

A little of each.  The darkness and the desperate nature of the thing, primarily.

Symbiote:
OOC:

I don't know if he's my "favorite" or "the one I love to hate" the most, but the Black Bat...troubles me.  The way he took down the entire team so easily.  The interplay between him and Caine that I still don't think we completely understand.  The way that Lightning Strike, Slingshot and Symbiote may still be mind controlled by him for all we know!

Second on my list:  Dr. Swastika, the only villain Hal really hasn't been involved with (because he came in after that storyline).  Hal would probably see some disturbing similarities between the two of them--both brilliant scientists, both obsessed with the metagene and what makes a superhuman.  And like The Bat, he's still out there...

Viva Vanguard,
Greg

Sentinel:
OOC:
Kirk's biggest baddie has to be Swastika whose efforts ended the first heroic age and caused such personal pain to Lancaster.  With his mental abilities and his ability to inhabit the bodies of others and force them to do his will... Kirk looks for him behind every corner.

Seems right now the biggest threat is Caine ... who is also doing everything to end the new heroic age.

(Hmmm.  We also know from the digital zone Caine'ss inner self is incredible strong and that from Kirk's energy sense Caine is actually a superbeing himself --- any wonder that Kirk is paranoid about a link between Caine and Swastika ... although thus far nothing has surfaced to substantiate it and we've seen no sign of Swastika since our first mission).

However the foe I actually hate is Harrik.  Hate him.  Guess its because he always seems a step ahead and has a golden touch and seems untouchable.  You've played it seemingly that he's been around and is an incredible strategist ... but I wouldn't be surprised on his actual sheet if he had some luck powers along with the ability to sense the weakness in others  (ala Karnack of the Inhumans) and stuff like that.  Hate that he knows exactly what to do to hurt us most and that unless taken unawares seems untouchable ... all the while seemingly just being a 'normal guy'.  Hate that we can't corral him... hope Harold mops the floor with him this adventure!  HATE HIM!

Seth

PS I know that Black Bat is nasty and almost got Kirk killed, and you've played him up as plenty scary,  but in my mind, knowing Tony played him in the old days (even though I wasn't there), I see him as this cartoony cross between Tony and Bela Lugosi in Plan 9 From Outer Space running around  with a cape hiding his face saying  in a fake Transylvanian accent, "I want to suck your blood."

--------------------------------------------------

Lightning Strike:
OOC:
When I played Black Bat he wasn't quite like Bela Lugosi but he also wasn't as evil as he is now.  I take that back, I do remember him killing one of the other players parents in one of the games and making Dynamo choose between stopping him and have innocent police officers being devoured by rats so he probably has been pretty evil all along.  He has to be number one in my book.

Second is Dr. Change.  That bastard was always one step ahead of the Freedom Force and made them look foolish many a time.

Harrik is third as I still remember one of the early games when we fought against him and it may have been at the Museum of Natural History in NYC when one of the PC's spent an action and a special hit to go after his sunglasses thinking that they were the source of his power.  Unfortunately, they were only sunglasses so all we managed to do was make him slightly less cool.  He must be up to like level 500 by now given that we fought him in the 1980's.  It would be nice if I could age in comic time!!

Caine is fourth as I don't have as much history with him as a player but he is certainly number one in terms of how much Lightning Strike hates him.

Clone:
OOC:
Because of all the 'blank spaces' still floating around in Clone's background I'm going to go with 'Dr. Swastika and/or the Ubermensch' and 'Dr. X and/or the Soviet Super Soldiers' as a tie - I'm dying to have Clone encounter these guys!

Soldier:
OOC:
OK, as Soldier has missed out on a lot, and has had limited interaction with a lot of the rest of these guys, I'm going to have a short list.

Topping the list is dear old, especially after the revelations of the past few issues
Next up, and coming is a very close second, is Silas Caine

Coming in third, I'd have to go with the Patriot (Mercenary?), as I've got a feeling a I'll be seeing a lot more of him in the future

And special mention goes to the Puppet, as I just find him creepy.
